Send with an Avatar

Adding an avatar or profile photo makes your transactional and outreach emails feel human, establishing trust with your recipients.

1. Gravatar (Global Associated Avatars)

Many email clients (including Thunderbird, Apple Mail, and various webmail interfaces) query Gravatar to retrieve sender avatars:
  1. Visit Gravatar.com.
  2. Create or log in to your account.
  3. Add the exact email address you send from (e.g. alex@yourcompany.com).
  4. Upload your professional headshot or company avatar.
  5. Clients that support Gravatar will display the image whenever they receive mail from that address.

2. Google Workspace Profile Picture

For emails received by @gmail.com or Google Workspace users:
  • If you send from a Google Workspace user account, upload a profile photo in the Google Admin Console or Account Settings.
  • Google will automatically show that avatar next to your sender name inside Gmail.

3. BIMI Brand Avatars

For consumer-wide corporate logo placement across Gmail, Yahoo, Apple Mail, and Fastmail, see our guide on Setting up BIMI.
