Emails Going to Spam
Having your emails delivered to the Spam or Junk folder is typically caused by reputation factors, missing DNS records, or message content triggers.1. Verify Authentication (SPF, DKIM, DMARC)
Ensure your domain passes all three core authentication checks:- SPF: Confirms Mailofly’s IP addresses are authorized to send for your domain.
- DKIM: Verifies cryptographic integrity of the message body and headers.
- DMARC: Aligns the
Fromdomain with SPF and DKIM.
2. Check Spam Rate (< 0.3%)
Google and Yahoo enforce a strict 0.30% maximum spam complaint rate. If more than 3 out of every 1,000 recipients flag your emails as spam, inbox placement will drop immediately.- Use double opt-in where possible.
- Include a prominent, one-click unsubscribe link.
3. Sender Warmup
Brand-new domains or domains suddenly sending thousands of emails trigger anti-abuse heuristics. Gradually ramp up sending volume according to our Warm-up Guide.4. Content and Link Quality
- Avoid URL Shorteners: Do not use
bit.lyor generic redirectors; spam filters automatically flag them. - Text-to-Image Ratio: Do not send emails that consist entirely of a single image. Include well-structured HTML text.
- Consistent From Address: Use a recognizable sender name and matching domain.
