Custom Return-Path

The Return-Path (also known as the envelope sender or bounce address) specifies where receiving mail servers send non-delivery reports (NDRs) and bounce notifications.

Why Customize Your Return-Path?

By default, Mailofly uses a shared return-path address (e.g. bounces@mail.mailofly.com). Setting up a custom return-path allows you to:
  • Achieve Full SPF Alignment: SPF authentication passes under your own domain name (e.g. pm.yourdomain.com), satisfying strict DMARC alignment requirements.
  • Brand Consistency: Removes third-party sending signatures in header previews.
