Domains Overview

Adding and verifying a custom domain is the first step to sending production email with Mailofly. A verified domain gives you:
  • Custom Sender Identity: Send branded emails from addresses like support@yourdomain.com or newsletter@updates.yourdomain.com.
  • Cryptographic DKIM Signing: Your emails are signed with 1024/2048-bit DKIM keys through our delivery relay, proving authenticity.
  • SPF & DMARC Alignment: Prevents spoofing, improves sender reputation, and ensures your emails reach the primary inbox rather than spam.
  • Open & Click Tracking: Track user engagement through branded tracking links.

Apex Domain vs. Subdomain

You can verify either an apex domain (yourcompany.com) or a subdomain (mail.yourcompany.com or notifications.yourcompany.com).

The Verification Lifecycle

  1. Add Domain: Enter your domain name in the Mailofly dashboard.
  2. Publish DNS Records: Add the provided DKIM (CNAME), SPF (TXT), MX, and DMARC records at your DNS host (Cloudflare, AWS Route 53, GoDaddy, Namecheap, etc.).
  3. Verify DNS: Mailofly queries public DNS servers. Once records match, your domain status immediately switches to Verified.
