Deliverability, Bounces, and Suppressions

Protecting your domain reputation is critical for ensuring your emails land in the inbox. Mailofly automatically monitors bounces and maintains a suppression list to shield your domain from spam penalties.

Hard Bounces vs. Soft Bounces

Spam Complaints

When a user clicks “Report as Spam” or “Move to Junk” in Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook, an automated Feedback Loop (FBL) notice is received by Mailofly:
  1. The message status updates to complained.
  2. An email.complained webhook event is emitted.
  3. The recipient is automatically added to your suppression list to prevent future sends.

Managing Your Suppression List

You can view, search, and manage suppressed email addresses:
  1. Open AudienceSuppressions in the dashboard.
  2. Review the reason (Hard bounce, Spam complaint, or Manual unsubscribe).
  3. If an address bounced due to a temporary DNS glitch or was resolved with the customer, click Remove Suppression to restore sending access.
