Deliverability, Bounces, and Suppressions
Protecting your domain reputation is critical for ensuring your emails land in the inbox. Mailofly automatically monitors bounces and maintains a suppression list to shield your domain from spam penalties.Hard Bounces vs. Soft Bounces
Spam Complaints
When a user clicks “Report as Spam” or “Move to Junk” in Gmail, Yahoo, or Outlook, an automated Feedback Loop (FBL) notice is received by Mailofly:- The message status updates to
complained. - An
email.complainedwebhook event is emitted. - The recipient is automatically added to your suppression list to prevent future sends.
Managing Your Suppression List
You can view, search, and manage suppressed email addresses:- Open Audience → Suppressions in the dashboard.
- Review the reason (Hard bounce, Spam complaint, or Manual unsubscribe).
- If an address bounced due to a temporary DNS glitch or was resolved with the customer, click Remove Suppression to restore sending access.
