Troubleshooting Common Issues
”Unable to verify account name or password”
- Ensure you are entering your full email address (
user@yourdomain.com) as the username, not just the local prefix (user). - Check if your mailbox is paused by an admin in the dashboard.
- If you recently reset your password, restart your mail app or remove and re-add the account.
”Cannot connect to outgoing server”
- Many residential and cellular internet service providers block outgoing traffic on port
25to stop spam bots. Mailofly requires Port 587 (STARTTLS) or Port 465 (SSL/TLS) for client sending. Never use port 25 in client apps.
”Certificate Warning”
- If your client alerts you to a hostname mismatch, ensure you typed
mail.mailofly.comrather than your vanity domain (e.g.mail.yourdomain.com). The server’s TLS certificate matchesmail.mailofly.com.
