# Webmail Client

Mailofly includes a modern, high-speed webmail application deployed at **[mail.mailofly.com](https://mail.mailofly.com)**. It provides a browser-based email experience for employees and teams without requiring desktop email client software.

## Accessing Webmail

* **Official Portal**: [https://mail.mailofly.com](https://mail.mailofly.com)
* **Branded URL** *(if CNAME configured)*: `https://mail.yourdomain.com`

### Logging In

1. Navigate to [mail.mailofly.com](https://mail.mailofly.com).
2. Enter your full business email address (e.g. `alex@yourcompany.com`).
3. Enter your mailbox password.
4. Click **Sign In**.

## Why JMAP?

Unlike legacy webmail interfaces (such as Roundcube or Horde) that run slow PHP scripts and translate IMAP commands over the web, Mailofly Webmail is built natively on the **JMAP (JSON Meta Application Protocol — RFC 8620 & RFC 8621)** standard:

* **High Performance**: JMAP exchanges compact JSON payloads rather than verbose IMAP character streams, resulting in instantaneous folder rendering.
* **Batch Operations**: Perform actions across multiple emails (marking as read, archiving, deleting) in a single HTTP request.
* **Push Synchronization**: New incoming emails arrive immediately without continuous polling or page refreshes.
* **Lightweight & Mobile-Friendly**: Reduced battery consumption and low memory footprint on laptops and mobile devices.

## Webmail Features

### 1. Folder & Conversation Management

* **System Folders**: Standard access to **Inbox**, **Sent**, **Drafts**, **Trash**, **Spam**, and **Archive**.
* **Threaded Conversations**: Messages with matching subject lines and `In-Reply-To` headers are grouped into clean, chronological conversation threads.
* **Message Status Badges**: Visual indicators for unread items, attachments, and flagged messages.

### 2. Rich Text & HTML Composer

* Compose emails with rich formatting (bold, italics, lists, blockquotes, inline links, code blocks).
* Drag-and-drop file attachments with live upload progress.
* Automatic draft saving to ensure you never lose unsent content.

### 3. Instant Full-Text Search

Search through thousands of historical messages in milliseconds. Search filters include:

* Search by sender (`from:`)
* Search by recipient (`to:`)
* Search by subject line (`subject:`)
* Full body keyword search powered by embedded server-side RocksDB indexing.

### 4. Storage Quota Visibility

View your current storage consumption at any time in the webmail settings sidebar. If your mailbox nears its limit, clear out large attachments or request an admin quota increase.

Built using Mailofly's modern dark theme, optimized for all screen sizes from mobile phones to ultra-wide desktop monitors.
