# Domain already registered

> How to resolve the error when a domain has already been added to another account.

If you attempt to add a domain to your Mailofly account and receive the error:

```
"This domain has already been registered by another organization."
```

This means the domain exists in another Mailofly workspace or was previously registered under an older account.

## How to Resolve

### Option 1: Remove from Previous Account

If you or someone on your team created a previous Mailofly account:

1. Log in to the original account.
2. Go to **Domains** in the dashboard.
3. Select the domain, click the settings menu, and select **Delete Domain**.
4. Once deleted, return to your current account and add the domain.

### Option 2: Use a Subdomain

If you cannot access the previous account immediately, consider using a dedicated sending subdomain such as:

* `mail.yourcompany.com`
* `send.yourcompany.com`
* `notifications.yourcompany.com`

Using a subdomain is email deliverability best practice and avoids conflicting with apex domain records.

### Option 3: Contact Support for Ownership Verification

If an unauthorized party has claimed your domain, our team can verify DNS ownership via a custom TXT challenge record.

Contact support at **[support@mailofly.com](mailto:support@mailofly.com)** with:

* The domain name
* Proof of DNS administrative access
