# Avoid Gmail's Spam Folder

# Avoid Gmail's Spam Folder

Google enforces strict sender requirements for all emails arriving at personal `@gmail.com` and Google Workspace inboxes.

## 2024+ Mandatory Sender Requirements

To avoid being rejected or diverted to Spam, your sending configuration must comply with Google's rules:

1. **Set Up SPF and DKIM**: Both SPF and DKIM must be authenticated. Mailofly handles DKIM key generation automatically when you add your domain.
2. **Publish a DMARC Record**: You must have a valid DMARC record published at your root domain (`v=DMARC1; p=none; ...`).
3. **Keep Spam Rate Under 0.10% (Absolute Cap: 0.30%)**: Monitor Google Postmaster Tools. A spam complaint rate above 0.3% will result in domain-wide spam folder placement or hard rejections.
4. **One-Click Unsubscribe (RFC 8058)**: Marketing emails must include both `List-Unsubscribe` and `List-Unsubscribe-Post` headers allowing one-click opt-out.
5. **Valid Forward and Reverse DNS (PTR)**: Mailofly maintains valid forward and reverse DNS records on all sending IP addresses.

## Google Postmaster Tools

We recommend registering your domain with **Google Postmaster Tools** (postmaster.google.com) to monitor:

* Domain reputation rating (High, Medium, Low, Bad)
* Daily user-reported spam rate
* SPF, DKIM, and DMARC success rates
* Delivery errors
