# Train Tracks & Bridges

If steps are the toy stations in your town, **Connections** are the little wooden train tracks that link the stations together!

A connection line tells Mailofly: *"When the train leaves this station, which station should it head toward next?"*

## What a Track Looks Like

On your visual workbench, you will see clean lines running from the bottom handle of one card straight down to the top handle of another:

```
┌──────────────────────────────┐
│     🔔 Doorbell Trigger      │
└──────────────┬───────────────┘
               │  (Train Track)
               ▼
┌──────────────────────────────┐
│     💌 Send Welcome Email    │
└──────────────────────────────┘
```

When someone starts your automation, they climb aboard the train and roll right down the track.

## The Two Types of Tracks

### 1. Straight Railroads (One-Way)

Steps like **Send Email**, **Delay**, or **Update Contact** have one single exit at the bottom. As soon as that card finishes its job, the train rolls straight ahead to the next stop.

### 2. Fork in the Road (Branching Tracks)

Special cards like **Condition** and **Wait for Event** have two different exits:

* **The Green Line (True / Event Happened)**: Takes riders down the left road if they pass the quiz.
* **The Gray Line (False / Timed Out)**: Takes riders down the right road if they didn't pass.

```
                    ┌──────────────────────────────┐
                    │    ❓ Quiz: Is on Pro Plan?   │
                    └───────┬──────────────┬───────┘
                            │              │
                   (YES!)   │              │   (NO)
                            ▼              ▼
                   [ Send Pro Perks ]   [ Send Free Tips ]
```

## How to Lay Down or Remove Tracks

* **Laying a Track**: Click on the little circle dot at the bottom of any block, drag your cursor over to the top circle dot of another block, and let go. Snap! It locks into place.
* **Popping a Block in the Middle**: Hover your mouse over any line until the `+` button appears, then click it to slide a brand new station right in between!
* **Removing a Track**: Click on the line to highlight it and tap **Backspace** or **Delete** on your keyboard.
