# Hit the Big Red Stop Button

> Tell an active robot to take a nap and stop accepting new visitors immediately.

Need to pause your automation right away?

Hitting the stop button sets its status to `"disabled"`. No new people will be allowed to start this journey while it is stopped!

### Path Parameters

<ParamField path="id" type="string" required>
  The ID badge of the automation you want to pause (e.g. `"auto_9b83b384..."`).

### Response

  Always says `"automation"`.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="id" type="string">
  The ID of the robot you put to sleep.
</ResponseField>

<ResponseField name="status" type="string">
  Confirmed as `"disabled"` (sleeping like a rock).
